The Thompson M1A1 from Snow Wolf / Cyma is a true-to-map replica of the Military M1A1 of the US armed forces. The forend, buttstock and the handle are beautifully made in a wood replica. This looks absolutely valuable and can only be recognized as a plastic on closer inspection. The upper receiver as well as the entire barrel, the magazine ejection, the trigger and the fire selector lever are completely made of metal. The lower receiver is made of a composite plastic. As with the real prototype, the metal rear sign can be adjusted to the left and right. To the left of the shooter there is also Thompson, a separate save and fire selector in front of a rotary knob.
The battery with Mini-Tamiya connection is housed in the rear butt plate.
Inside there is a V6 gearbox with 6mm sockets and four bearings. The gearset is a torque-up set made of steel and the spring guide is also metal. Piston head and cylinder head are made of polymer plastic. The piston with steel tooth is also made of polymer.
The adjustable hop-up is located under the decorative sleeve ejection window.
The Original Thompson was used by the US Armed Forces during World War II and is very rare and popular today. In contrast to the civilian variant, the military variant was a mass-produced and inexpensive weapon. The civilian variant achieved dubious fame as the Mafia's favorite weapon. Here she was nicknamed "Chicago Typewriter" (typewriter) because of the "staccato" caused by the slow continuous fire. Law enforcement officers also used the weapon.
